Early Start Africa is prioritizing urgent support to children from selected urban slums and rural poor in East Africa. Choice of priority focus is and will be based on available and ongoing research. Early Start Africa actively engages government and civil society in identification of demographics with greatest return on investment given the resource constraints.

We are currently implementing early childhood care and learning support programs in urban settlements in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kajiado, Kiambu, Marsabit and Trans Nzoia counties of Kenya. Current rural program areas under consideration include Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, selected counties in Western Kenya, Kwale and Kilifi.
