I’m Sarah Vahora, an early childhood development professional from the US. with 10+ years in program management, curriculum development, refugee resettlement and cross-cultural exchange. I am grateful to be a part of the Early Start Africa family and would be honored to serve on the board, deepening my connection with colleagues in Kenya and beyond. I remain inspired by Early Start Africa’s mission to serve vulnerable children and families, giving all children a better start in life.

I will draw on my diverse experience in international education where I focused on policy and programmatic work in early childhood development in Africa and Asia, through work with the Aga Khan Development Network and the International Rescue Committee. I also remain committed to Early Start Africa’s approach to inclusion and workforce development and will bring my experience teaching newly arrived refugees from a vast array of backgrounds.

Finally, I’m continuing a Masters in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) with Erikson Institute and hope to apply what I’m learning in the classroom to service on the board, helping Early Start Africa achieve its long-term goals. Thanks so much for your consideration.
